Wendy and George are engaged but he doesn’t make enough money as an accountant to allow them to wed. George meets Howard, an old friend who is now financially successful. George leaves town on business, and Howard keeps Wendy company. Howard finally proposes to Wendy, but she says she loves only George. George appears and says he and Howard planned the whole thing to make sure Wendy was willing to stick with George even though he isn’t rich.
