The second part of this two-issue arc from Ankama delivers a cover that immediately commands attention: a massive, hat-wearing specter with dripping fangs and long, tendriled hair looms over a forest clearing, its sprawling clawed arms framing a glowing tangle of monstrous skulls behind it. Standing their ground in the foreground are the white-bearded warrior and his smaller, blue-skinned severed-head companion — small in scale against the creature above them, but utterly unintimidated. MacLean and Spicer's bold linework and striking red-and-teal palette make this 2017 release a genuinely gripping piece of dark fantasy storytelling.
