The second installment of Andrew MacLean's quarterly adventure series from Image delivers one of 2015's most striking cover images: a massive, battle-scarred warrior stands triumphant atop a towering mound of grotesque severed heads, blood-soaked sword in hand and arrows bristling from his back, while a small companion figure clutches the pile beside him against a bold crimson backdrop. MacLean's linework is confident and expressive, balancing cartoonish energy with genuine menace in a way that feels wholly its own. At six issues a year, Head Lopper was clearly built to make every chapter count — and this cover suggests issue two is doing exactly that.
