The issue contains two distinct stories. "Code of the Jungle! Mr. Flatfoot" follows a hunter named Thor who, while on safari in Africa, encounters a massive gorilla and saves a woman named Stella from danger; later that night, Thor foils an attempted kidnapping when criminals try to abduct Stella. The second story depicts a World War II naval encounter where Captain Prien commands a German submarine that sinks the British battleship Royal Oak in a harbor, with German sailors celebrating the successful attack while British sailors perish in the flames.
