Hawkman #32
The mid-arc tension of "Hunter, Hunted, Prey! Part 2 of 3" radiates off this 1996 cover, where a ferocious, hawk-helmeted figure dominates the scene — wings spread wide against a blazing orange sky — pinning a figure to the ground while a discharged firearm tumbles away and dark feathers scatter through the air. Howard Porter's linework gives the whole composition a raw, kinetic menace that feels perfectly suited to a story with prey in the title. With Priest writing and Mike Collins and Barbara Kaalberg handling interior art, this issue sits squarely in one of DC's more intense runs with the Winged Wonder.
