Hawkgirl #3

Issue three of six in this 2023 DC miniseries finds Hawkgirl squarely in the grip of the Court of Owls, and the cover by Amancay Nahuelpan captures the tension beautifully — Hawkgirl strides forward in full winged regalia, flanked by Batman in the shadows and a green-haired figure at her side, all three pushing through a dark, owl-haunted stone corridor. Jadzia Axelrod's series continues to pair its soaring hero with some of Gotham's heaviest hitters, and with a story titled "This is Bat Country!" the creative team is clearly having a great time with that collision of worlds. Nahuelpan's warm, torchlit palette gives the whole scene an eerie underground glow that makes this one hard to put down.
