Hawkeye: Freefall #1

Clint Barton plunges headfirst into a new chapter — the cover by Kim Jacinto captures Hawkeye in a breathtaking inverted freefall, bow in one hand and an arrow streaking alongside him against a stark white void, his purple-and-black costume a blur of motion. The diagonal composition and bold red-to-orange title treatment give the whole image a kinetic urgency that perfectly sells the series' premise. With Matthew Rosenberg writing and Otto Schmidt handling art and colors, this 2020 opener looks like a sharp, confident ride for Marvel's most grounded Avenger.
