“Nobody There!”

In "Nobody There!", Ray Bradbury and Al Feldstein deliver a chilling tale of greed and unintended consequences, illustrated with sharp, haunting detail by Jack Davis and colored with eerie precision by Marie Severin. When Richard visits his late brother Charles to claim his inheritance, he stumbles upon a coffin designed to honor the dead—only to find himself buried alive in it, as the machine begins its own grim ceremony. Graham Ingels’ cover captures the story’s unsettling tone, a perfect match for this 1992 horror classic.

Richard visits his brother, Charles, to steal from him and finds Charles working on a revolutionary new type of coffin that will let even the very poor have a decent funeral. It's sure to make a fortune in royalties! The coffin is finally completed just before Charles drops dead from a heart attack. Now the money from the coffin will be Richard's! He gets in the coffin to see what's so great about it. It begins playing music and eulogizing him, which is nice enough. But then, he's embalmed as the coffin makes its own way to the cemetery and buries itself. Not so nice.
