Hasib & the Queen of Serpents: A Tale of a Thousand and One Nights #[nn]

Drawn from the timeless well of One Thousand and One Nights, this 2018 NBM graphic novel finds young Hasib — dressed in red and reaching out with cautious wonder — face to face with the enormous, serene visage of the Queen of Serpents, her flowing hair dissolving into a writhing mass of coiling snakes that crowd every corner of the cover. David B. both writes and illustrates the whole volume, bringing his distinctively bold linework and rich teal-and-gold palette to this ancient tale of the fantastical. It's a beautifully composed package that makes a strong case for Arabian Nights storytelling finding a perfect home in the graphic novel form.
