Cullen Bunn and Tyler Crook have built Harrow County into one of the most atmospheric Southern Gothic horror series in modern comics, and this "Family Tree" volume captures that eerie sense of dread beautifully — the image of innocence encircled by the grotesque says everything about the world Emmy inhabits. If folk horror with genuine heart and genuine chills is what you're after, this is a fine place to be.
