Hardware: Season One #5

Part of DC's 2022 Milestone Returns initiative, Hardware: Season One #5 ("Episode Five: Barrage") presents a cover by Mateus Manhanini that's as visually inventive as it is chaotic — a dizzying crowd of identical blond figures in yellow-and-green suits surrounds a lone armored Hardware at the bottom, who stares up at the swarm with a bemused question mark hanging in the air. The effect is equal parts overwhelming and darkly funny, hinting at a multiplicity problem that Hardware may not have bargained for.
