In the main Hap Hazard tale, Hap is sick in bed and unable to attend a party, so his friend attempts to help by applying a mysterious fluid to Hap's car that purportedly removes paint—resulting in a comical mishap when the substance works too well. The issue also includes "Zip Persmith," a story about a character attempting to win over a woman by consulting a book titled "How to Gamble—Easy Lessons" and becoming flustered when she calls.
