“Bartelby Rejects the Premise”

In *Haha #1*, written by W. Maxwell Prince and illustrated by Vanesa Del Rey, Bartelby the Clown faces a day that goes from bad to absurd when he learns his beloved Funville Amusement Park is closing. After being mugged by his fellow clowns and then caught in a bank robbery, Bartelby takes a bullet to the forehead while trying to speak up—leaving his fate as uncertain as his next paycheck. The issue’s striking cover by Vanesa Del Rey captures the moment’s dark, surreal tone.
