Hack/Slash vs. Vampirella #5

The five-issue crossover wraps up with a cover by Chrissie Zullo that's equal parts cute and creepy — Cassie Hack stands tall in her quilted top and plaid skirt, spiked bat slung over one shoulder, while a crouching Vampirella eyes the viewer with fangs just barely showing, a glowing skull looming over them both. Zullo's stylized, almost storybook linework gives both horror heroines a surprising amount of personality and warmth even against that ominous green backdrop. It's a satisfying final chapter image from a team-up that clearly had fun leaning into the genre contrasts these two characters bring together.
