Buenos Aires, October 2009. The military has governed Argentina since the end of Duhalde's presidency. Ernesto León Chogollán leads a resistance group attempting to flee the city and cross the Puente La Plata to Colonia, Uruguay. The group is pursued by the PFA. An operative called Pájaro holds the bridge as the army closes in. Outnumbered and out of ammunition, Ernesto surrenders to protect his companions. He is executed. Carmen receives his final letter, instructing her to raise their unborn child not to accept injustice but to confront it.
