Isabel Kreitz's strikingly detailed black-and-white cover sets an immediate tone of dread and shadow — a solitary figure in a hat lurks in the doorway of a grimy tenement stairwell, graffiti-scarred walls pressing in from all sides. The composition, all harsh angles and iron railings, evokes the claustrophobic atmosphere of Weimar-era urban decay perfectly suited to a story bearing this name. Writer Peer Meter and artist Kreitz bring what promises to be a deeply atmospheric crime narrative to Reprodukt's 2026 catalog.

Hannover 1924. Der homosexuelle Fritz Haarmann wurde von der Polizei als Spitzel eingesetzt und inoffiziell mit einem Polizeiausweis ausgestattet. Mit Hilfe dieses Ausweises erschlich er sich das Vertrauen junger Männer, die er in seine Wohnung lockte um sie dort zu vergewaltigen und zu töten. Trotz konkreter Hinweise, die auf eine Täterschaft Haarmanns hindeuten unternimmt die Polizei lange Zeit nichts. Erst nachdem Haarmann zufällig wegen des Besitzes einer Jacke seines letzen Opfers verhaftet wird, kommt es zur Aufklärung der Morde.
