One story features two Boy Scouts caught in a windstorm who lose important papers and must search for them, encountering various obstacles and eventually finding the documents with help from small fairy-like characters. Another story, titled "Winky," tells of a nearsighted monkey in the jungle who struggles to see and participate with other monkeys; after accidentally frightening away a tiger that threatened the group, Winky is hailed a hero and rewarded with a pair of eyeglasses, becoming the only monkey in the jungle to wear them.
Two young mice, Shilly and Shally, dream about ditching civilization for the simple life, until a day of imaginative play in the great outdoors—complete with makeshift camels and encounters with birds, squirrels, and protective parents—teaches them that nature's perils might be just as rough as cats and urban troubles. This half-page romp captures the gag-driven humor of early funny-animal comics, where wide-eyed schemes collide hilariously with reality.
