“Opération déguisement”

"Opération déguisement" delivers a tense, character-driven sci-fi mystery in Héros de l'aventure #5 (1972), where Captain Johner and his crew investigate a derelict Earth ship amid a meteor storm. Written by Robert Schaefer and Eric Freiwald, with dynamic art by Russ Manning, the story unfolds with quiet dread as the team encounters a survivor driven to madness by isolation—revealing that even among the stars, the human spirit can fracture. The cover by George Wilson captures the moment’s eerie suspense, making this a standout entry in the series.

The Earth-bound ship raises shields against meteors and finds a derelict Earth ship. Captain Johner goes aboard, finds air, but is coshed from behind. Rodg and an Alien, Og, venture aboard. Rodg is struck down but Og grabs the perpetrator: an Earthman driven mad by loneliness. The humans bring the victim aboard. Zarz says, "Bravery has helped to weld our friendship!"
