Héros de l'aventure #21
In "Seul contre Talpa," Captain Johner and Zarz face a mystery aboard an alien vessel where human "ambassadors" are trapped and restless—except for Ric, whose hypersensitive nerves make him uniquely suited to handle a catastrophic sub-space drive overload. With the ship on the brink and only Ric’s fragile perception able to navigate the surreal, color-drenched chaos of sub-space, the fate of the crew rests on a mind pushed beyond human limits. Written and illustrated by Russ Manning, this 1972 adventure from Éditions des Remparts features cover art by Russ Manning, capturing the tension and otherworldly dread of a man alone in a universe of light and sound.

Earthbound, Captain Johner and Zarz wonder about the Alien-bound ship... On that ship, the human "ambassadors" are bottled up and stir-crazy. The only calm guy is Ric, who has hypersensitive nerves for hypatomic maintenance. They venture out and Bul explains how their motors work - as the sub-space drive overloads! Ric is stranded in sub-space, a bewildering rainbow of colors. Only with hyper-nerves can he trace the vibrations and colors to shut off the motors - even passing through solid bulkheads. The Aliens were helpless. "Credit it to a case of nerves!"
