This 1993 Goldmann collection of Dik Browne's beloved Hägar der Schreckliche — subtitled Jedem das Seine — captures the strip's warm domestic comedy right on its cover: a helmeted, shield-toting Hägar arrives home late and sheepishly asks Helga what's for dinner, only to be met with a pot of eggs that have been boiling for three hours and twenty-three minutes. It's a perfect little two-panel snapshot of the long-suffering Helga getting the last word, and it sets the tone for the gentle, good-natured humor fans have always loved about this Viking household.
