Gwandanaland Comics #3351
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeThis 2023 Gwandanaland Comics reprint collects material from Manhunt #6 (March 1948), a pulpy crime anthology that drew on the FBI, Scotland Yard, the Northwest Mounted, and the Secret Service for its hard-boiled tales. The cover — reproduced here in full — depicts a shadowy, broad-shouldered figure in a dark hat and coat looming over a blonde woman lying on what appears to be a morgue slab, with a highlighted story banner promising "Maid in the Morgue." It's a striking snapshot of Golden Age crime comics at their most atmospheric, and Gwandanaland's compilation format makes a nice chunk of that era easy to revisit in one sitting.
