This 2018 Gwandanaland collection reprints Modern Comics #44–65, gathering a rich run of Golden Age Blackhawk adventures in one handy volume. The reproduced cover from Modern Comics #54 sets the tone beautifully — Blackhawk himself, sharp in his blue uniform and hawk emblem, confidently holds two captured men while his colorful squadmates and a wide-eyed villain look on, with aircraft visible in the background and the cover line promising he "ties up the Man Who Pulled the Strings." It's a terrific snapshot of the era's breezy, action-packed storytelling, and having over twenty issues collected together makes this a genuinely satisfying read for fans of wartime adventure comics.
