Part of Gwandanaland's "Legion of Oddball Heroes" reprint line, this collection spotlights Blue Circle Comics No. 3, the September issue — and its cover alone makes a strong case for golden-age weirdness at its finest. Framed within a circular vignette, a wide-eyed figure is engulfed by a massive octopus's tentacles while a caped diver descends trident-first toward the chaos and a large fish cuts through the surrounding water. It's the kind of wonderfully strange underwater peril that makes early superhero anthologies such a delight to rediscover in 2019.
