This is an anthology comic containing multiple stories. "A Peso for Your Thoughts" follows Senor Pancho Ramez, a Mexican mud sculptor who travels to New York hoping to sell his wares but finds Americans unappreciative of his art; discouraged, he attempts to sell a mud bust to a crooked-nosed man he encounters on the street. "Vigilance Valley" features an old timer and a woman named Matilda defending their homestead against intruders; when a man bursts into Matilda's home, the old timer responds by arming himself and organizing the community to drive off the attackers. A third story, "Mister Rider," involves a man on horseback named Rider who encounters a woman named Joan Burnett; she reveals she has a brother fighting with the South during the Civil War and is being hunted by bandits, and Rider agrees to help her despite his reluctance to get involved.
