Guardians of the Galaxy #25

Marking the series' 25th issue milestone, this June 1992 entry promises a jaw-dropping confrontation as the cover — penciled by Jim Valentino and inked by Hilary Barta — places an enormous, imposing Galactus at center stage, fists raised and radiating energy in every direction. Surrounding the World-Devourer is the full roster of the 31st-century Guardians, along with a fiery cosmic figure in the upper right and a Silver Surfer portrait inset at lower left, all dwarfed by their planet-eating adversary. The banner across the top says it all: the Guardians of the Galaxy are going head-to-head with Galactus and the Silver Surfer — and this oversized anniversary issue looks more than ready to deliver on that promise.
