Grizzlyshark #2
The premise of Grizzly Shark Returns is wonderfully deranged, and Ryan Ottley's cover for issue #2 sells the survival-horror promise immediately: a massive, blood-soaked shark erupts from a field of tall grass, its rows of jagged teeth gaping wide as a hulking, bald figure clutches a smaller person — desperately shielding them or dragging them straight into danger. Colorist Ivan Plascencia bathes the scene in a scorched, golden light that makes the carnage feel almost apocalyptic, every flying blade of grass adding to the sense of violent, unstoppable motion. If you're in the mood for creature-feature dread with serious craft behind it, this Image series delivers it in spades.
