Stephanie Phillips and Flaviano's supernatural series reaches its fifteenth chapter with a cover that pulls no punches — a silhouetted figure stands her ground, glowing scythe in hand, facing down a towering, grotesque creature bristling with spines, red nodules, and a gaping maw. The contrast between that warm golden arc of the scythe and the creature's unsettling purple mass makes for a genuinely striking composition. Flaviano handles both the line work and color here, and the result is the kind of image that makes flipping past this one on the shelf pretty difficult.
