Grifter #2

Part of DC's New 52 initiative, Grifter #2 arrives in 2011 with a cover by Cafu and Jason Gorder that crackles with supernatural tension — Cole Cash, red-masked and gripping a gun, is locked in a desperate struggle with a uniformed figure whose face reveals an alien, blue-tongued Daemonite lurking beneath the human exterior, all set against a burst of searing orange flame. The tagline "Daemonites Are Everywhere — Or Are They?" captures exactly the paranoid unease that makes this series so compelling: when anyone could be a monster in disguise, trust becomes a luxury a grifter can't afford. Nathan Edmondson's writing and Cafu's kinetic art look to make "The Advantage Angle" a taut chapter in Cole's fight for survival.
