Grendel vs. the Shadow #[nn]

This crossover miniseries pits Matt Wagner's master thief and assassin, Grendel (in the form of Hunter Rose), against the classic pulp vigilante The Shadow, written and illustrated by Wagner himself. The story brings together two dark, urban crime-fighters from different eras, with Grendel's sophisticated brutality clashing against The Shadow's mysterious brand of justice in a battle of wits and violence.
