Emile, cambrioleur bohême, se lie avec Gregor Kyralina, jeune psychothérapeute et clown à ses heures perdues. Il est aussi ami avec Maria, une artiste peintre d'une grande beauté qui ressemble étonnamment à une statue de Vénus d'un musée de la ville.
