“SOS Green Lantern”
About this Collection

This hardcover volume kicks off DC's Archives series, collecting the earliest adventures of the Silver Age Green Lantern, Hal Jordan. It reprints Showcase #22-24 and Green Lantern (Vol. 2) #1-5, featuring the debut of Hal Jordan, his origin, and his early battles against classic foes like Sinestro and Star Sapphire, with art by Gil Kane and stories by John Broome. A cornerstone for fans of Golden and Silver Age DC history.

"SOS Green Lantern" kicks off with a high-stakes treasure hunt rooted in betrayal and lost legacy, as Tom Kalmakus races to reclaim his father’s share of a buried gold map—only to find himself tangled in a scheme led by the ruthless Duke Danfield. Written by John Broome and brought to life with dynamic art by Gil Kane, inks by Joe Giella, and vivid colors by Anthony Tollin, this classic tale blends mystery and heroism, culminating in a shocking revelation that ties Tom to Hal Jordan himself. The cover by Gil Kane and Joe Giella captures the tension perfectly, a 1993 collector’s gem with a timeless punch.
