The fourth volume of Green Class, "Het signaal," arrives from Le Lombard with a cover by David Tako that wastes no time setting a tense, unsettling mood. A determined young woman clutches a flare gun and stands her ground at the center, four anxious companions gathered behind her, while the looming legs of a massive dark figure frame them from above and creature-like forms — clawed, tentacled, and monstrous — press in from every side against a blood-red sky. Writers Jérôme Hamon and The House of Boom!, paired with Tako's striking linework and color, have built a series that puts ordinary young people face-to-face with genuinely extraordinary threats, and this 2022 installment looks like the tension is about to crest.
