“Growing Pains”

Tied to DC's "Brightest Day" crossover event, this December 2010 issue of Green Arrow promises serious tension with its cover banner proclaiming "Return of the Black Lanterns!" Mauro Cascioli's painted cover puts a battered, shirtless figure — arms raised, crying out — surging through crashing water amid a dense, mist-shrouded forest, conveying raw desperation in every detail. Writer J.T. Krul and artists Diógenes Neves and Vicente Cifuentes continue their run on Oliver Queen's world with what looks to be a wild, emotionally charged chapter.
