Green Arrow #5
This fifth volume of the 2005 Green Arrow series collects issues #26-31, following Oliver Queen as he faces a new threat in Star City involving a mysterious walled-off neighborhood. The story arc, written by Judd Winick with art by various artists, delves into Oliver's past and his evolving relationship with his son Connor Hawke.
In "City Walls Part Two: What's Green and Yellow and Red All Over?", Ollie and Connor race to unravel the Riddler’s latest twisted puzzle, following a trail of stolen artifacts to Mr. Davis. As the pieces come together, the emerald duo realizes the game has escalated to a threat far more dangerous than they imagined.
In "City Walls Part Three: Captive Audience," Green Arrow and Connor face a city under siege as the Riddler's atomic threat triggers a mystical blackout orchestrated by Mr. Davis. With Star City sealed off by a protective bubble and demons prowling the streets, the two must navigate chaos and unseen dangers—survival hinges on what they can’t see.
In "City Walls Part Four: The Devil Inside," Star City lies in darkness under a supernatural siege, its streets patrolled by demons enforcing a brutal, law-driven purge. With the city crumbling and no one safe, Green Arrow teams up with the Riddler to uncover the mind behind the madness—only to face an army of demons guarding the man they believe holds the key.
In "City Walls Part Five: Oliver's Army," Green Arrow forges an uneasy alliance between Star City’s police, street gangs, and criminal underworld to combat the rising tide of demons overwhelming the city. With tensions high and trust in short supply, this ragtag force must learn to fight together before the streets fall completely to darkness.
In "City Walls Part Six: "...Come Tumbling Down..."" from Green Arrow #5, Ollie leads a desperate charge into Mr. Davis’ house, rallying a ragtag force of cops and criminals in a final bid to break the demonic siege choking Star City. With the city’s containment field holding back chaos, every step toward the house brings them closer to a reckoning that could shatter both the walls and the city’s fate.
