"Red Hawk" tells of two old companions—Red Hawk and Bigfoot—who fall into battle after evil medicine brewed by a Cheyenne shaman named Smoke Dog drives them apart, with Red Hawk ultimately defeating Bigfoot and becoming one of the chosen warriors sent to the happy hunting grounds. "Straight Arrow" follows a wild horse discovered starving in a secret mine tunnel in Sundown Valley; when townspeople capture the horse, a man named Straight Arrow emerges to stop them, leading to a pursuit and showdown where Straight Arrow is revealed to still be alive and fighting.
In "Danger Trail," Tioga follows signs meant to guide him to Straight Arrow, only to find the path altered by Bluecloud, who hopes to delay his journey and spend more time with the man she admires. When Tioga veers off course, he witnesses a brutal attack by a Crow war party on Straight Arrow and Bluecloud—only for Bluecloud to narrowly escape and warn Raven Feather of Straight Arrow’s capture. Raven Feather, seeing an opportunity to win Bluecloud’s affection, dismisses the threat, unaware that Tioga and Straight Arrow will soon break free with the help of their loyal companion Fury. The consequences of that decision soon come to bear.
Straight Arrow takes on impossible odds when he infiltrates the hidden outlaw town deep within Puzzle Canyon, unleashing a relentless campaign of fire and terror to break the will of the Claw Haskins and Calamity Kate gang—outlaws who've wounded the sheriff and sent fear rippling through nearby Sawtooth Junction. As the outlaws face nights of burning arrows, phantom attacks, and mounting dread, the great Comanche warchief proves that sometimes the only way to stop killers is to become the very terror they've inflicted on innocent townsfolk.
When a bitter dispute between two Cheyenne warriors over the medicine man Smoke Dog erupts into violence, Red Hawk emerges victorious—and earns the shaman's trust enough to finally receive his promised journey to the legendary Happy Hunting Grounds. What Red Hawk discovers in that mist-shrouded paradise forces him to confront a truth his tribe may not want to hear, testing whether a warrior can convince his people of deception when they've already chosen to believe.
Steve Adams—secretly the masked avenger Straight Arrow—takes a nasty fall from his horse that leaves him with complete amnesia, unable to recall his hidden identity or the location of his secret cave hideout where his loyal horse Fury waits. As vigilante rustlers led by the scheming banker Ned Hammer move in to seize his ranch, a shocking encounter restores Steve's memory and sends him back into action to protect the desperate farmers being driven from their land. With Fury at his side and justice on his mind, Straight Arrow faces off against the owlhoots threatening the valley.
