Paul Azaceta's cover for this 2012 Image series finale takes a clinical, unsettling approach — presenting a full-body anatomical diagram of a zombie ("Mortuus Vivens"), complete with Latin muscle labels, notes on partially active brain functions, a stopped heart, and a graffitied red circle marking where a bomb goes. It's a brilliantly grim piece of dark humor that captures the series' blend of military grit and undead horror in a single striking image. Mark Sable and Azaceta close out Graveyard of Empires with a cover that's equal parts field manual and horror show.
