Gravestone protects Christine Daniels in from the monsters in Sluggtown, a city brought through another dimension to occupy the same space as Los Angeles. Back in his cave, Gravestone reminisces of another Christine he loved in Paris a long time ago while living in the catacombs of an opera house. He then is attacked by a shapeshifter named Scythe who mimics his form and absorbs his powers. Leaving Gravestone defeated, Scythe goes on a rampage.
