Based on an original story by Nicolas Vanier, this 2014 Belgian album from Daedalus launches the Klondike adventure with a cover by Jean-Marc Stalner that immediately sets the tone: a rugged, heavily laden prospector strides through deep snow, rifle and walking staff in hand, while a second traveler and a wolf-like dog follow close behind amid snow-dusted pines and a dramatic mountain horizon. Written by Éric Stalner with art and inks by Jean-Marc Stalner, colored by Zuzanna Estera Zielinska and Bruno Pradelle, Goud onder de Sneeuw ("Gold Under the Snow") promises a richly illustrated tale of hardship and determination in the frozen north.
