David Lapham and Maria Lapham's crime series reaches its third issue with a cover that radiates cold-blooded tension — a steely-eyed figure clutches a submachine gun while partially concealed behind a smoke-wreathed American flag, the industrial interior behind them suggesting something has already gone very wrong. Dee Cunniffe's coloring gives the scene a muted, pressure-cooker atmosphere that feels both timely and deeply unsettling.
