Published during Godzilla's 60th anniversary year, this IDW entry in the Rulers of Earth series delivers a cover that's genuinely hard to look away from — the King of the Monsters looms at the center, dorsal fins glowing an electric blue, while a writhing mass of insectoid creatures swarms every inch of the foreground and surrounds him on all sides. The sheer density of those alien, multi-legged bodies pressing in gives the image a claustrophobic, overwhelming tension that hints at a monstrous siege. Mowry, Frank, and Tramontano's names are on the cover, and the creature work here is impressively detailed, each snapping head and curling appendage rendered with real care.
