"No Arms to Hold Me" follows Beth, who accepts a marriage proposal from Chris Blaine despite her hesitation, as she had been engaged to Tom Gale two years prior before moving away. Beth struggles with her feelings for Chris and eventually creates a false story about having a fiancé overseas to discourage his advances, but ultimately admits the deception and buys herself an engagement ring to convince others—and herself—that she is truly committed to the relationship. A second story, "Blind to Her Game," depicts a woman who manipulates a man named Peter Lambert by pretending to be vulnerable and helpless, winning his affection through deception while she actually schemes to take advantage of him.
