Girls' Romances #21
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeThe cover of this July 1953 issue sets the emotional stakes immediately — a blonde woman grips a swing while the young man beside her turns his gaze toward a poised, green-suited redhead arriving with a suitcase, her cool confidence sending an unmistakable ripple of tension through the scene. The cover copy spells it out perfectly: "The first moment Joy Turner looked at Dan with her cool green eyes, I suddenly felt that soon I'd have… 'No Man of My Own!'" Mike Sekowsky's cover pencils bring that romantic unease to life with crisp, expressive figures against a warm suburban backdrop. Girls' Romances #21 is a fine example of DC's mid-century romance line capturing the small, heart-stopping moments that make for genuinely compelling storytelling.
