This anthology issue contains three stories: "The Rebels of Island Castle," in which schoolgirls Jill and Bruce MacDare discover an ancient castle off the Scottish coast during a holiday and learn of its mysterious history; "Lynette in London" by Christine Landon, featuring a girl named Lynette who becomes involved in a pirate-themed tableau competition at the Delft Square School's New Year's Eve parade in London; and "Sally and Dave—The Gay Adventurers" by Elise Probyn, in which Sally and Dave undertake a bicycle journey through Europe to deliver an important letter to Port Vesta, encountering various obstacles including Italian police. The issue concludes with "Mystery at Beacon Cottage," where girls Pat and Sue investigate smugglers operating near their seaside home and work with a naval officer to apprehend the criminals.
