Hideaki Sorachi's beloved shonen series continues with this French-language edition from Kana, presenting a striking cover portrait of a kimono-clad young man against a star-scattered cosmos, a lighted cigarette held casually at his fingertips. The elegant dark robe with its ornate patterning and the glowing celestial backdrop give the image a quietly cool, otherworldly atmosphere that perfectly captures Gintama's blend of period style and sci-fi sensibility. Tome 12 is a fine addition to this standout series from 2009.
