Giant Days #17 finds a curly-haired young woman kneeling in a narrow canyon passage, peering intently into a small bowl she holds in her hands — while towering walls of treasure, ancient artifacts, a pharaoh statue, a skeleton, swords, and mysterious relics press in on either side of her. It's a wonderfully whimsical cover by Lissa Treiman that captures the series' knack for turning everyday university life into something unexpectedly epic. John Allison, Max Sarin, Liz Fleming, and Whitney Cogar continue their charming BOOM! Box collaboration here, making this 2016 issue a delightful addition to one of indie comics' most warmly drawn ongoing series.
