DC's Ghosts #8 (October 1972) delivers on its bold promise of "True Tales of the Weird and Supernatural" with a cover by Nick Cardy that's genuinely unsettling: a skeletal, wild-haired specter emerges from a tall clock case while a woman kneels before a roaring fireplace and a man in a suit looks on, puzzling aloud why the clock hasn't struck midnight. That central story, "The Cadaver in the Clock!" — written by Leo Dorfman and illustrated by Buddy Gernale — is joined by three more tales, "Guns of the Dead," "To Kill a Tyrant," and "Sinister Sands of Satan," making this anthology issue a packed evening of creeping dread for just twenty cents.
