Dell's Ghost Stories serves up a genuinely unsettling January 1971 cover that earns its tagline — "Haunted by a Ghost That Wasn't There!" A massive black cat crouches and snarls in the foreground, looming over a terrified figure stumbling in full flight, while a white-shrouded specter reaches out ominously from the glowing city backdrop behind them. It's atmospheric horror with a pulpy city-night palette that makes this an appealing corner of Dell's supernatural anthology line.
