The futuristic skull-faced Ghost Rider 2099 stands his ground as a blue-and-red Spider-Man 2099 comes diving down at him fists-first in a tense mid-air confrontation — and the cover by Mark Buckingham makes every ounce of that clash feel electric. Marvel's 2099 line was firing on all cylinders in 1994, and pitting two of its most visually striking heroes against each other was a bold, crowd-pleasing move.
