“Crack in the Wall”

Dark Horse's Ghost #11 brings a quietly haunting mood to this 1996 series, with a cover by Brian Apthorp (pencils) and Gary Martin (inks) that is all atmosphere and unease. A white-shrouded figure clutches what appears to be a bundled infant amid a swirling storm of dark leaves, the bare trees and deep blue night sky pressing in from behind. It's a strikingly tender yet eerie image — the billowing white fabric both protective and spectral — that sets an evocative tone for "Crack in the Wall.
