This 2009 volume from Evangelisches Medienhaus brings to life Johann Friedrich Oberlin (1740–1826), the remarkable Alsatian pastor and social reformer, "in Wort und Bild" — in word and image. The cover, illustrated and colored by Jacques Arbeau, shows Oberlin addressing a gathered congregation from a pulpit, his hand raised with conviction as speech balloons capture his impassioned words to his community. It's a fitting portrait of a man whose life of faith and service made him one of Protestantism's most compelling figures.
